Caramel Icing - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. white sugar
3/4 c. margarine or butter
1-1/2 c. buttermilk
1-1/2 tsp. soda
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
A few drops of almond extract
Preparation

Dissolve
soda in buttermilk and cook slowly with sugar and butter.
Cook until when tested mixture forms a soft ball.
Cool. Add flavoring and beat.
If icing becomes to hard, add a little hot water.
Makes enough for 3 layer cake.
