Beef-Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef short ribs
    2 tsp. salt
    2 c. canned tomatoes (16 oz. can)
    1/2 c. onion, sliced
    3 c. mixed vegetables
    7 c. water
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 c. diced potatoes
    3/4 c. diced carrots
Preparation
    Combine meat, water, salt and pepper in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil.
    Cover and simmer until meat can be easily removed from bones.
    Remove bones, skim off fat.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Add vegetables.
    Cover and cook 35 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
