Ritz Cracker Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 rolls Ritz crackers
    1/2 stick butter
    1 c. crushed pineapple
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 small box lemon jello
    4 egg yolks
    4 egg whites
    Cool Whip
Preparation
    Crush crackers and stir in melted butter.
    Put mixture in bottom of pan.
    Save some of the mixture to sprinkle on top.
    Cook pineapple and sugar.
    Add egg yolks and cook until thick.
    Remove off heat and add 1 small box lemon jello in the mixture and stir well.
    Let cool.
    Beat the egg whites until stiff with 1/2 cup sugar.
    Fold into cooked mixture.
    Then pour over Ritz cracker crumbs.
    Top with Cool Whip and sprinkle rest of cracker crumbs on top.
    Let cool before serving.
