Boiler Maker Barbecue Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 yellow onion, minced
    2 cloves garlic, mashed
    2 Tbsp. chili powder
    1/2 fresh jalapeno pepper
    8 oz. dark beer
    4 oz. bourbon whiskey
    1/2 c. cider vinegar
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1 c. tomato puree
    3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    3 Tbsp. molasses
    2 Tbsp. brown mustard
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    2 Tbsp. lime juice
    1 Tbsp. freshly ground pepper
    1 tsp. liquid smoke
Preparation
    In a non-reactive saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook slowly until translucent. Add garlic, chili powder and jalapeno and cook until fragrant. Add beer, bourbon, vinegar and sugar and cook until reduced by half, 5 to 10 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients. Stir well and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Sauce can be stored in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Makes 3 cups.
