Mother'S Pecan Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. flour
2 lb. raisins
1/4 lb. citron
1 lb. sugar
1 lb. butter
10 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 lb. pecans
1 Tbsp. fresh grated nutmeg
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 pt. wine or whiskey
Preparation

Pour wine over nuts the night before.
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks.
Mix soda with buttermilk.
Sift flour with spice.
Add alternately with buttermilk to other mixture.
Add well beaten egg whites.
Fold in flour-dredged fruit and nuts. Place batter in well-greased and floured tube pan.
Steam 3 hours, then dry off in oven for 30 minutes.
