Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk
    2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients with a small amount of the milk.
    Add rest of the milk.
    Cook over boiling water (in a double boiler), stirring until thick.
    Cover; cook for 15 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
    Add a small amount of the hot mixture to the egg yolks.
    Pour back and cook a few minutes longer.
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Pour filling into baked shell.
    Cool slightly; cover with meringue.
