Homemade Tomato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. butter or margarine
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 large onion, chopped
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme
    1/2 tsp. dried basil
    salt and pepper
    1 can (2 lb. 3 oz.) diced tomatoes, preferably Italian
    3 Tbsp. tomato paste
    1/4 c. flour
    3 3/4 c. chicken broth
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 c. heavy cream
Preparation
    Melt butter in large pot.
    Add olive oil, thyme, basil, salt and pepper.
    Saute until onion is wilted.
    Add tomatoes and tomato paste.
    Cook 10 minutes.
    Blend flour with about 5 tablespoons of broth.
    Stir into tomato mixture.
    Add remaining broth and cook 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
    Add sugar and cream.
    Heat until serving temperature.
    Serves 8 people.
