Crisp Pickle Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced, unpeeled cucumbers (approximately 1/4-inch thick)
    1/3 c. pickling salt
    3 c. cider vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    6 onions, sliced
    3 cloves garlic, peeled
    5 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Mix together cucumbers, onions, garlic and pickling salt; let stand overnight.
    Drain brine the next morning.
    In a large kettle, combine cucumbers with remaining ingredients; bring to a boil, then pack in jars.
    Process for 5 minutes in a boiling water bath.
