Poached Apple Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    dash of salt
    2 tart apples
Preparation
    Combine the sugar, water and dash of salt.
    Simmer 5 minutes. Meanwhile, core the apples and cut in 1/2-inch slices. Leave bright peel on. Drop into sugar syrup and cook gently until tender. Remove from heat.
    Let apple slices cool in syrup to plump. Drain. Use as trim.
