Sweet Pickle Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    firm medium pickle cucumbers
    3 c. sugar
    4 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    3/4 tsp. mustard seed
    3 3/4 c. white vinegar
    3 Tbsp. pure granulated salt
    4 1/2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Wash cucumber and cut in sticks.
    Cover with boiling water and let stand 4 to 5 hours.
    Drain and pack solidly into 6 pint jars. Mix remaining ingredients and boil 5 minutes.
    Pour over cucumbers, filling to 1/2-inch from top.
    Seal and process 5 minutes.
    For a sweeter pickle, double the amount of sugar.
