Breakfast Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 slices thin white bread, buttered
    1 lb. fresh sausage
    1/2 lb. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
    4 eggs
    3 c. milk
Preparation
    Trim crust from bread.
    Lightly butter.
    Saute sausage until lightly browned.
    Place 6 slices of bread into 3-quart casserole dish, buttered side up.
    Spread 1/2 sausage and cheese over bread. Repeat bread, sausage and cheese layers.
    Lightly beat together eggs and milk.
    Pour over sausage mixture.
    Press down until milk comes through.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
