Grapefruit In Brandy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 grapefruit (large)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water (cold)
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    4 Tbsp. brandy
Preparation
    Cut off all the peel and pith from grapefruit and carefully poke out the pithy core with the little finger.
    Slice the fruit into 1-inch rounds.
    Put the sugar in large saucepan with 1/2 cup cold water and cinnamon.
    Cook over low heat, stirring frequently until the sugar has dissolved, then boil for 2 minutes.
    Lower the heat.
    Add grapefruit slices.
    Poach for 6 minutes, turning once. Arrange slices on serving dish.
    Pour brandy over them and serve hot or chilled.
