Red Rice 3 - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. fried bacon grease
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 large bell pepper, chopped
    1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
    1 15 oz. can chopped tomatoes
    3 cups uncooked rice
    3 15 oz. cans of water
    salt and pepper to taste
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 c. hot sauce, if desired
Preparation
    Cover bottom of pot in fried meat grease.
    Add chopped onion and bell pepper.
    Saute until tender.
    Add tomato sauce, tomatoes, and water.
    Add sugar, salt, pepper, and hot sauce.
    Stir and cook until boiling.
    Add rice and cook until
    the mixture boils again. Turn down heat (low to medium).
    Stir often so that the rice does not stick to the bottom of the pot and scorch.
    Cook until rice is done but not completely dry (about 15 to 20 minutes).
    Add more water if needed.
