Cream Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. sugar
    3 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch or 5 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. milk
    3 egg yolks, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cornstarch or flour in top of double boiler. Stir in milk.
    Add beaten egg yolks before mixture gets too hot. Cook over boiling water until mixture comes to desired consistency.
    Add vanilla.
    Pour into baked pie shell.
    Add meringue and bake until brown.
    This filling can be used to make old fashioned banana pudding.
