Fruited Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 lb. beef arm or blade pot roast
    3 Tbsp. oil
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 medium green pepper, cut into strips
    1 can unsweetened apple slices
    1/2 c. seedless raisins
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
Preparation
    Brown pot roast in oil and drain.
    Add water, soy sauce, pepper and onion.
    Cover tightly and cook slowly for 2 1/2 to 3 hours on top of stove.
    Cook until meat is almost tender.
    Add green peppers, apples, raisins and brown sugar.
    Continue cooking until meat is tender, about 30 minutes.
