Raisin Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 c. water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. raisins
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. baking powder
4 scant c. flour
Preparation

Place sugar, butter, water, soda, raisins, cinnamon, salt, cloves, nutmeg and ginger in larger pot and heat until boiling and butter has melted.
Let cool overnight.
Sift baking powder and flour together and stir into raisin mixture.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours in 2 medium loaf pans with bottom lined with wax paper, greased and floured.
Brush tops of loaves with jam while still hot.
