Red Velvet Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 c. sugar
    7 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. cake flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    1 (11 oz.) bottle of red food coloring (optional)
Preparation
    Combine butter, shortening and sugar.
    Cream well.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Stir in vanilla and food coloring.
    Combine flour and salt; add to cream mixture alternately with milk, beating well.
    Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 about one hour and 20 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
