Nene'S Crunchy Cucumber Sticks - cooking recipe
Ingredients

7 lb. cukes (1 1/2 to 2 lb. each)
3 oz. powdered alum
2 qt. water
3 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
1 c. hot pepper rings (if desired)
2 c. household lime
2 qt. white vinegar
6 lb. sugar (12 c.)
1 Tbsp. celery seed (optional)
Preparation

Day #1 A.M.:
Peel and halve the cukes.
Remove seeds.
Cut into lengthwise strips.
Soak in 2 gallons of water with lime stirred in.
Soak for 24 hours.
