Potatoes And Beef Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. water
    2 lb. beef stew meat, cut in 1-inch cubes
    2 large onions, sliced (optional)
    1 c. water
    2 large potatoes, pared and thinly sliced
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
    1 c. dairy sour cream
    1 1/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 1/4 c. Wheaties cereal, crushed (may use other flaked cereal or none at all)
Preparation
    Brown meat and cook onions until tender in water.
    Add 1 cup water and heat to boiling.
    Reduce heat, cover and simmer 50 minutes.
