Cherry Go Round - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. milk
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 pkg. active dry yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    4 1/2 to 4 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. unsifted flour
    1/2 c. pecans, chopped
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 (1 lb.) can pitted red sour cherries, drained
Preparation
    Scald milk; add shortening, sugar and salt.
    Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast to warm water and stir to dissolve.
    Add 1 1/2 cups flour to milk mixture; beat well.
    Beat in eggs and yeast.
    Stir in enough of remaining flour to make a soft dough that leaves the sides of the bowl.
    Knead until smooth and satiny on lightly floured board.
    Place in greased bowl; invert to grease top. Cover and let rise until doubled (1 to 1 1/2 hours).
    Punch down.
