Date Nut Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. dates
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 Tbsp. Crisco
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over dates and Crisco; cool.
    Add the sugar and egg.
    Sift and add the flour, salt, soda and cream of tartar. Add the chopped walnuts.
    Bake in loaf pans at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
