Chewy Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. flour
3/4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. oatmeal (quick)
1 c. nuts

Preparation

Beat shortening, eggs, vanilla and sugar until smooth.
Add dry ingredients.
Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
