Mom'S Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. cucumbers
    6 medium onions
    2 cloves garlic
    1/2 c. salt
    1 qt. cracked ice
    3 c. cider vinegar
    4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. turmeric
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers and onions.
    Use large container.
    Put garlic, cucumbers, ice and salt in container.
    Leave 3 hours.
    Boil vinegar and sugar with spices.
    Drop cucumbers and onions into hot vinegar solution until they turn color.
    Spoon into quart jars.
    Turn jars upside down until cool.
