Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract
2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tsp. milk
Preparation

Beat the shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat until well mixed.
Add the vanilla and almond extracts.
Mix thoroughly.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Stir all together.
Divide the dough and chill.
Grease cookie sheet with salad oil.
Roll 1/4 to 1/8-inch thick.
Sprinkle with sugar before baking.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 9 minutes or until light brown.
