Gertrude Hines' Cucumbers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 cucumbers
    2 onions
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 or 3 Tbsp. salt
    1 heaping tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. dill (if desired)
    1 c. cider vinegar
Preparation
    Peel and slice cucumbers and onions.
    Add sugar, salt, pepper and dill (if desired).
    Heat cider vinegar to a boil.
    Pour hot vinegar over other ingredients.
    Let stand, covered, at room temperature overnight, then chill in icebox.
