Apple Spiced Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chicken fryer (2 to 3 lb.)
    1/4 c. apple jelly
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/2 tsp. ground allspice
    vegetable oil
    salt and pepper
    4 Tbsp. flour
    3/4 c. milk (stirring it as it thickens)
Preparation
    Just before serving, sprinkle lots of cut-up parsley.
    This gravy or sauce poured generously over plain boiled rice with butter-fried chicken and fresh vegetables is my favorite of all meals.
    And if there is any milk or gravy leftover it's great when warmed the next day and poured over buttered bread in a soup plate.
