Crumb Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    3 c. sugar (scant)
    1 c. lard (scant)
    1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 Tbsp. buttermilk
Preparation
    Put flour, sugar and lard in bowl and mix to a crumb.
    Save out 1/4 cup crumbs.
    Add 1 cup buttermilk to beaten eggs.
    Beat into crumb mixture until smooth.
