Hot German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 to 8 large potatoes, cut in fourths with skins
    5 slices bacon, cut into small pieces
    1 large onion, cut into small pieces
    1 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. water
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    2 more slices bacon for the top
Preparation
    After boiling potatoes, peel skins off and then cut up in 1/2 to 1-inch pieces.
    Put in oven-proof bowl and set aside.
    Cut bacon into small pieces and fry to crisp.
    Take bacon from grease and put bacon on potatoes; return the grease to fire.
    Add cut up onions; fry in the grease until done or transparent.
    When done, add cup of vinegar slowly into onions in pan until mixture is hot.
    Pour on potatoes.
    Add 1/2 cup water into pan.
    Heat until water bubbles. Pour this over potatoes and mix well.
    Cut 2 slices bacon in halves and place on top of mixture.
    Heat in 350\u00b0 oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
