Italian Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion
    2 cloves garlic (whole)
    1 can diced tomatoes (flavored; basil and garlic, etc.)
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    3 (6 oz.) cans water
    2 Tbsp. sweet basil
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Simmer onion and garlic with olive oil in pan until onions are soft. Put in remaining ingredients and bring to boil. Reduce to simmer. Stir occasionally and simmer for 1 hour.
