New Mexico Spoon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (No. 300) can creamed corn
3/4 c. milk
1/3 c. melted shortening or Wesson oil
1 1/2 c. cornmeal
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 (4 oz.) can green chilies, finely chopped
1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Mix all ingredients except chilies and cheese.
Pour into greased 9 x 9-inch pan, half the mixture.
Top with half the chilies and cheese.
Pour rest of mixture and top with chilies and cheese.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
Minced onion can be added to mixture.
