Layer Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 c. frozen mixed vegetables
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 1/2 lb. uncooked ground beef
    8 half strips bacon
Preparation
    In bottom of 3-quart baking dish put rice.
    Layer with vegetables; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Add one 8 ounce can tomato sauce mixed with 1/2 can water.
    Add onion and green pepper.
    Top with layer of ground beef.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Pour over 8 ounce can tomato sauce mixed with 1/4 can water.
    Top with bacon strips.
    Bake covered for 1 hour in 350\u00b0 oven.
    Uncover; bake 30 minutes longer.
