Thumbprints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. (1/2 lb.) unsalted butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 egg yolks
    2 c. unsifted flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. jelly
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cream butter (medium speed) and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Beat in eggs and vanilla.
    Gradually add flour and salt.
    Refrigerate 1 hour.
    Work with 1/4 dough.
    Keep rest refrigerated.
    Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet, 2-inches apart.
    Using thumb, make depression in center of each.
    Bake 10 minutes.
    Remove cookies. Make depression again.
    Fill with 1/4 teaspoon jelly.
    Bake 5 minutes more.
    Cool on wire rack.
    Repeat.
    Makes 4 dozen.
    May freeze for 3 months.
