Ingredients

4 medium egg whites
1 1/4 c sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 c moist shredded coconut or 2 c finely chopped nuts
Preparation

Heat oven to 325\u00b0.
Beat egg whites until frothy.
Gradually beat in sugar.
Continue beating with rotary beater or mixer until very stiff and glossy.
Stir in salt, vanilla and coconut.
Drop heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake about 20 min., or until set and delicately browned.
Let cool. Remove with spatula.
Makes 3 doz.
