Party Size Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. cocoa
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
2 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Sift flour, soda, salt and cocoa together twice.
Cream shortening and add to sugar and beat until creamy.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Beat well after each addition.
Sift in dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.
Blend until smooth.
Add vanilla. Bake in three 9-inch layer pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
