Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. diced celery
    4 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, uncooked
    1 medium onion, sliced and separated into rings
    8 to 10 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 to 5 oz. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Tear lettuce and place in 9 x 13-inch glass dish.
    Layer next 5 ingredients.
    Add sugar to mayonnaise.
    Spread mixture over top as you would frosting.
    Top with grated cheese.
    Cover with plastic wrap.
    Refrigerate 8 to 12 hours.
    Mix just prior to serving.
