Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. navy beans
    1 c. chopped carrots
    1 c. cubed potatoes
    1 ham bone
    3 qt. water
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 medium onion, chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Rinse and sort beans; cover with water and heat to boiling; boil uncovered for 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat and let stand 1 hour.
    Add all other ingredients and simmer 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
    Add more water if needed.
