Pickled Carrots - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 qt. sugar
    1 Tbsp. whole cloves
    1 Tbsp. allspice
    1 Tbsp. mace
    1 stick cinnamon
Preparation
    Boil young carrots until skin slips; remove skin.
    Slice or leave whole.
    Pour syrup, spices (in a bag), sugar and boiling hot over carrots.
    Let stand overnight.
    Bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
    Remove spices and pack in jars.
    Pour syrup over carrots and seal.
