Cherry Crowns - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1 c. sugar
    1 large egg, separated
    1 tsp. almond extract
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. finely chopped nuts
    30 red candied cherries, halved
Preparation
    Beat butter and cream cheese until soft and creamy; gradually add sugar.
    Add egg yolk with extract; mix well.
    Stir in flour. Cover and chill about 1 hour.
    Shape dough into 1-inch balls; dip tops in beaten egg white, then almonds.
    Place on lightly greased pan; press a cherry half in top and bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
