Grapefruit Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 pkg. plain gelatin
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 c. grapefruit sections
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Dissolve gelatin in 9 tablespoons of cold water.
    Dissolve sugar in 1 cup boiling water.
    Add gelatin to mixture while still hot.
    Cool; add 3 cups of grapefruit sections and 1 cup juice. Put 1/2 of mixture into bowl and let congeal in refrigerator. Make sure remaining mixture doesn't congeal.
    Soften cream cheese (add milk, if necessary).
    Add chopped nuts.
    Spread evenly on first layer when it has congealed, then add remaining mixture. Add maraschino cherries for color.
