Topper Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 (16 oz.) can peas, drained
    2 potatoes
    1 large onion
    1 can tomato soup
    3/4 c. water
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Divide beef into 4 patties and brown on both sides.
    Put browned beef patties in large skillet or pot with tight-fitting lid.
    Sprinkle salt and pepper on beef.
    Peel potatoes and slice in 2 pieces.
    Slice onion in 4 slices.
    On each beef patty, place 1 slice onion and 1 piece of potato.
    Pour drained peas over this. Combine tomato soup and water.
    Pour over top of mixture.
    Simmer for 45 minutes until potatoes are done.
