Oregon Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. chopped clams or ground fresh ones
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    pinch of thyme
    salt and pepper to taste
    3 slices bacon, thickly sliced
    2 medium potatoes, diced
    3 c. half and half
    chopped parsley
Preparation
    Drain clams
    and
    reserve liquor.
    Cut bacon into small shreds and cook
    in
    a
    skillet
    over medium heat until crisp. Add the onion
    to
    the
    bacon
    fat\tand
    brown
    lightly.
    Cook potatoes in 2\tcups
    boiling, salted water until just tender. Add the\tbacon, onion,
    clam liquor, salt and pepper.
    Simmer for 5 minutes.
    Add half
    and\thalf and bring to a boil.
    Add ground clams and just heat through.
