Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
dash of salt
1 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Add egg yolks one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
Sift dry ingredients together 3 times and add alternately with milk and vanilla to creamed mixture.
Beat until smooth after each addition.
Fold in stiffly-beaten egg whites.
Pour into greased pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
