Molasses Crinkles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. soft margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. blackstrap molasses
    2 1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Grease cookie sheets. Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    In a large mixer bowl, mix thoroughly butter, sugar and then the egg.
    Then add molasses.
    Sift dry ingredients and spices.
    Add to batter and blend thoroughly.
    Chill dough for an hour or two. Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Dip top in granulated sugar.
    Place sugar side up, 3-inches apart on cookie sheet.
    Sprinkle each ball with a couple drops of water to make the top crinkle while it bakes. Bake 10 to 12 minutes just until set, not hard.
    Yields 4 dozen (2 1/2-inch cookies).
