Walnut Coffee Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. ground walnuts
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
2/3 c. melted butter, cooled
1 tsp. vanilla
3 Tbsp. light brown sugar, sifted
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients.
Beat egg, buttermilk, butter and vanilla.
Add flour mixture, beating until smooth.
Butter well a 2 1/2-quart tube pan.
Coat with a mixture of 1/3 cup ground walnuts and 3 tablespoons of sifted light brown sugar.
Pour batter in prepared pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 1 hour. Let cake cool in pan 10 minutes and then turn out onto a wire rack and let cool completely.
Serves 12.
