Candied Fruit Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. sifted powdered sugar
    1 unbeaten egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped pecans
    2 c. candied cherries, chopped
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar well.
    Blend in eggs and vanilla.
    Add flour, baking powder and salt.
    Mix well.
    Stir in chopped pecans and cherries.
    Chill for 1 hour or more.
    Divide dough in thirds. Shape into rolls, about 10-inches long.
    Wrap in waxed paper and chill about 3 hours.
    Cut into 1/8-inch slices.
    Place on cookie sheet and bake 12 to 15 minutes in 325\u00b0 oven until lightly browned.
    Cool on wire rack.
    Yields about 70 cookies.
