Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dry lentils
    8 c. cold water
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
    2 slices bacon, cut up
    1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 c.)
    1 medium carrot, chopped (1/2 c.)
    3 Tbsp. snipped parsley
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 clove garlic minced or 1/5 tsp. powdered
    2 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Rinse lentils and add all ingredients.
    Bring to boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer 45 minutes.
