Old Time Gingerbread - cooking recipe

1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. salad oil
1/2 c. molasses
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 large egg
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Grease and flour 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Into large bowl, measure 1/2 cup boiling water and all ingredients. With mixer at low speed, beat until well blended, constantly scraping bowl with rubber spatula. Increase speed to high. Beat 2 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl. Pour batter into pan. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes.
