Miss Elly'S Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 to 12 cucumbers
1/3 c. salt
4 medium onions
2 to 2 1/2 c. white vinegar
2 to 2 1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. turmeric
Preparation

Wash and slice cucumbers thin.
Put into pot.
Sprinkle with salt.
Let stand overnight.
Drain.
Mix vinegar and all other ingredients in same pot.
Mix and add cucumbers and onions.
Stir with wooden spoon until it comes to a boil (do not boil).
Ladle into 4 or 5 pint size jars.
Seal securely.
