Pineapple Refrigerator Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. 8 oz. sugar
    12 oz. butter
    18 egg yolks
    1 1/2 qt. crushed pineapple
    1 c. cream
    4 oz. nuts, chopped
    3 oz. maraschino cherries, chopped
    3 lb. 8 oz. vanilla wafers, crushed
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter at medium speed for 5 minutes.
    Add egg yolks, blend well.
    Add pineapple and cream to mixture.
    Cook over hot water until thick.
    Cool.
    Add nuts and cherries.
    Place a thin layer in bottom of 12 x 2-inch pan.
    Fill pan with alternate third layers; fruit mixture and crushed wafers.
    Refrigerate overnight. Serve with whipped cream.
    Serves 50.
