Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    whole cucumbers
    brine salt
Preparation
    Use 2 cups salt for 3 gallons of cucumbers.
    Let stay 9 days. Wash and slice. Cover with alum water (a 10 cent can).
    Let stay 24 hours. Wash and cover with vinegar.
    Let stay 24 hours. Drain and put a layer of cucumbers and a layer of sugar.
    Use gallon jug to pack pickles in.
